Supporting Tin Whistles Scholars for Life

Since its founding in 2018, the Scholar Network Committee has worked to build and sustain a vibrant community of current and former Tin Whistles Scholars—anchored in the belief that every TW Scholar is a Scholar for Life. With over 180 Scholars and the support of more than 300 Tin Whistles members, the network offers meaningful opportunities for alumni to connect, collaborate, and receive professional guidance from experienced mentors.

Scholar Connection Newsletter

The quarterly Scholar Connections newsletter keeps Scholars informed and engaged. It features: 

  • Profiles of current and former Scholars
  • Invitations to upcoming events
  • Surveys to gather feedback and ideals for future programming

This publication helps maintain strong ties between Scholars and the Tin Whistles community while encouraging peer-to-peer networking.

Digital Platform

To support mentoring and career development, the Committee launched a closed LinkedIn group in 2019—open by invitation to Scholars and Tin Whistles members. Interested individuals can request access by emailing Info@TinWhistlesFoundation.org.

In addition, the Committee maintains active Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages to share updates and promote Scholar activities. These platforms offer accessible ways to stay connected and informed.

Events and Ongoing Networking

The Committee organizes both in-person and virtual networking opportunities throughout the year. A group of Moore County-based Scholars hosts periodic gatherings, and all Scholars are notified via social media, email and the newsletter.

Annual events Include: 

  • New Scholar Luncheon (typically held in May of each year)
  • Year-End Holiday Party

These gatherings foster camaraderie and reinforce the Foundation’s mission of lifelong engagement.
