What scholarships are available through the Tin Whistles Scholarship Foundation?
The Tin Whistles Scholarship Foundation currently offers:
- Six 4‑year scholarships at the university of each recipient’s choice
- Three 3‑year nursing scholarships at Sandhills Community College
- Three 2‑year program scholarships at Sandhills Community College
What is the value of each scholarship?
The Foundation offers three scholarship pathways, each designed to support different educational goals:
- 4‑Year Scholarship — $6,000 per year, totaling $24,000. Funds must be used within 5 years.
- 3‑Year Nursing Scholarship — $11,000 awarded in scheduled installments. Funds must be used within 4 years.
- 2‑Year Program Scholarship — $6,000 per year, totaling $12,000. Funds must be used within 3 years.
What qualifications are needed to be eligible for one of the Tin Whistles Scholarship Foundation scholarships?
Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Graduate from a Moore County NC high school
- Demonstrate strength in the Foundation’s four core values: Academics, Leadership, Community Service and Financial Need
- Submit a completed application through their school
- Be nominated by the high school’s scholarship coordinator, who helps identify qualified candidates
Where can I get an application and how do I apply?
Applications are distributed through each high school’s scholarship coordinator. Your coordinator will guide you through the steps, answer questions, and help ensure your materials are submitted on time. Note – Online applications through the Tin Whistles Scholarship Foundation website are not available at this time.
Are there any limitations on the college major I can select for the 4-year scholarships?
There are no limitations. The only requirement is to remain a full-time student and all scholarship money must be used within 5 years.
Are there any activities I can participate in during High School to improve my selection changes?

How can I donate or support the mission of the Tin Whistles Scholarship Foundation?
Currently, donations to the Foundation are limited to Tin Whistles members only via Zelle, Check and Planned Giving.
